An unusual Chinese ivory carving of a dragon's head, its jaws agape revealing sharp teeth and a red tongue, the details picked out in polychrome and raised on an elaborate hardwood stand, Ming dynasty, some damage and restoration, 14cm long. (2)
Provenance: Sackville, 5th Earl of Yarborough, purchased from John Sparks Ltd., 24th June 1938 for 30 guineas, and recorded in the Sparks archive.
