A George II silver swing-handled basket

A George II silver swing-handled basket, by Samuel Herbert and Company, London 1754, oval form, pierced interwoven lattice body, foliate scroll border, pierced swing-handle, the centre engraved with an armorial within foliate mantling, on a pierced oval foot with rope-work borders, length 13.5cm, approx. weight 5.5oz. The arms are those of Writington, of Yorkshire, impaling the arms of Smith, of Yorkshire.
