Comprising: two rolls of silk, five pairs of shoes, two pairs of indoor boots and various elements of clothing, all contained in a trunk covered with black leather and metal studs and fittings, with a brass plaque on the lid engraved 'J R Reeves No3' and two paper labels on the front inscribed '5 Chinese Costume with many Chinese materials', 37cm x 43.5cm x 82.5cm. Provenance: acquired by John Russell Reeves (1804-1877), son of John Reeves (1774-1856) after his arrival in Canton in 1827, and thence by descent.
