A large and fine Florentine pietre dure plaque by Alfonso Montelatici, depicting a domestic interior scene of an elderly couple seated at a table, signed lower right 'A. Montelatici' and dated '1926', 17 x 25in (43 x 63.8cm) within an ebonised frame. Alfonso Montelatici the son of the famous mosaicist Giovanni Montelatici, drew inspiration for his compositions from the Tuscan Macchiaiolo school of artists and many of his works feature scenes of rural life.
