A pair of French Louis XVI style mahogany and ormolu mounted bergères attributed to François Linke, each with a ribbon tied surmount, with beaded and moulded frames, later upholstered with herringbone fabric, the fluted arms with leaves and flowers, above flowerheads and fluted tapering legs, c. 1900. (2)
Provenance: Purchased in Paris approximately thirty years ago from a specialist furniture dealer. The chairs were originally part of a suite of furniture that came from a château in the Loire valley.
