λ An Indo-Portuguese tortoiseshell and hardwood table cabinet, inlaid with bone and ivory stringing and with engraved ivory panels with leaves and flowers, the hinged lid revealing a mirror and a lift-out tray with four divisions, above a pair of doors revealing an arrangement of six drawers, each with a green stained bone and gilt fret front, with a pair of sliding panels to the back edge of the cabinet, revealing six secret drawers, with brass side carrying handles and hinges, early 18th century and later, 26.5cm high, 33cm wide, 24.2cm deep.

Provenance: The collection of Lady Ottoline Morrell and thence by descent, illustrated in the Garsington sale catalogue, 11th July 1928, lot 100.
