Thomas Ona. A carved wood and painted figure of a district officer, with a detachable hat, 10in (25.4cm) h. Thomas Ona Odulate of Ijebu Ode, was working from the turn of the last century in the late fifties carving satirical figures of colonial administrators, lawyers and missionaries as souvenirs for the English.
