A rare Doulton Lambeth stoneware Borogove grotesque figure by Mark V Marshall, the creature with incised decoration glazed green, blue and ochre on a mushroom ground, impressed factory mark, incised monogram, professional restoration to front foot, small chip to rim, 21.5cm. high

The Borogove creature was inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice Through the Looking Glass published in 1871. This creature bears a stronger resemblance to the Mome raths described by Humpty Dumpty as 'a sort of green pig'.
