Naval interest: a commemorative tumbler

Naval interest: a commemorative tumbler, finely engraved with a ship and the inscription 'Adm Duncan Victory Over the Dutch Oct 11 1797', the reverse with monogrammed initials, 12.7cm. The tumbler commemorates the Battle of Camperdown during the French Revolutionary Wars, during which the British captured eleven Dutch ships. Nevertheless, casualties were high and the English Navy lost many men in the process of retaining all her ships.
