A large photograph of Winston Churchill and Stanley Baldwin, signed by both of them and dated (in another hand?) April 1929. The photo 273 x 365mm, the mount 400 x 475m.

Sold with two glass inkwells which by family tradition are the same ones that feature in the photograph on the Cabinet table.

This photograph was taken in the Cabinet Room at Downing Street when Baldwin was Prime Minister and Churchill the Chancellor of the Exchequer. A month later the Conservatives lost the General Election and Churchill began his years in the wilderness.
