A late 19th century Austro-Hungarian canteen of flatware and cutlery, Hanoverian pattern, (in a fitted, brassbound case) comprising: 12 tablespoons, 12 table forks, 12 small dessert spoons, 12 dessert forks, 12 table knives (stainless blades), 12 side knives (stainless blades), 12 coffee spoons, 6 salt spoons, 6 small salts (glass liners), a soup ladle, a sauce ladle, a pair of basting spoons, three various serving slices, 6 associated ice cream spoons, and a pair of salad servers (with ivory bowl and tines), each piece monogrammed and struck with Swiss import marks, maker's mark "MGS" (all except ice cream spoons), probably Salzburg (town index "C") c.1890, 117 oz weighable silver.
