An early Victorian silvergilt vinaigrette, oblong with a cast border of thistles, roses and shamrock around the cover centred by engine turning and an oblong cartouche, initialled, the sides convex, chased with thistle roses and thistles, the grille with a decorative border mirroring that of the cover by Francis Douglas, London 1837, 1.75in (4.5cm) long.
