A late 17th century continental silvergilt pommander or smelling box, in the form of a small upright vessel with ribbed borders, a knop finial and a cylindrical neck with a pull-off cover, pierced with a floral pattern, the base initialled "C.E.B", unmarked, probably German c.1690, 2in (5.1cm) high.
