A George I basting spoon, Hanoverian with a plain moulded rattail, crested on the reverse of the terminal, maker's mark "SM" * London 1719, 14in (35.5cm) long, 5.75oz.

* This maker's mark is not identical to any listed in Grimwade or Jackson's Revised, although there are a number of marks with similar initials they are all quite different.
