ENGLISH & EUROPEAN CERAMICS & GLASS
Tuesday 6th March

The fully illustrated catalogue will be online in mid-February.

Woolley and Wallis is the leading regional auction house for English and European ceramics in the UK, with regular sales including 18th and 19th century glass, early English porcelain, Regency porcelain, delftware, maiolica, stoneware, slipware and pottery.

The department is credited with several records, including the discovery of the only known Limehouse figure, which although broken, fetched £22,000 in 2005. Two years later, an 18th century English porcelain cup was identified as A marked porcelain; only the 41st piece of this class of porcelain to be discovered, and went on to make £13,000. The ceramics department also holds the record for the highest price ever paid for a piece of Welsh porcelain, for a magnificent 10in. Nantgraw vase which fetched £30,000.

We hold regular specialist sales with fully illustrated colour catalogues, and are pleased to advise about selling either single pieces or collections. See below for highlights from our next sale on 6th March 2012, which includes a private collection of KPM porcelain plaques, a small private collection of slipware, some good pieces of Royal Worcester, and some early delftware tiles.
