A rare Tibeto-Chinese figure of Marici (Sita Jambhala) seated in Lalitasana on a lotus throne which in turn is carried by a boar striding forward on a thin rectangular base. Traces of cold gilt and blue paint in the hair. 17th century, 17cm. Cf. Ulrich Von Schroeder, p.489, no.138e where this example is illustrated. See also Sotheby's London, 23rd November 1987, lot 62 for another figure of Marici.
