A RARE CHINESE DOUCAI 'LOTUS' JAR SIX CHARACTER QIANLONG SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD 1736-95 The ovoid body painted with four panels containing stylised lotus flowerheads and leaf scrolls divided by smaller lotus and cloud motifs, the shoulder and foot with bands of overlapping petals, together with a hardwood stand, 11.7cm. (2) Cf. Sotheby's Hong Kong, 29th November 1977, lot 189 and again 16th May 1989 lot 67 for a jar and cover of this type from the British Rail Pension Fund, but with a Yongzheng mark; see also Sotheby's Hong Kong 8th October 2013 lot 3098 for another with an apocryphal Chenghua mark.
