An Army of India Medal

£100 - £150 £320

An Army of India Medal, renamed to Jamadar Tucket Ram, Nizam's Artillery, clasp, Ava (JAMADAR TUCKET RAM NIZAMS ARTY) renamed in engraved serif capitals, long hyphen reverse. Good very fine or better, bar re-attached.

The re-naming is done in a style very like other examples issued in India to various forces and is possibly near contemporary. It appears that a contingent of Artillery belonging to the Nizam of Hyderabad did serve with the British and H.E.I.C. forces in the First Anglo-Burmese War.
