An Italian maiolica albarello probably late 17th century Sicilian, painted in a muted palette of blue, green and yellow with a shield surmounted by an armoured head, inscribed 'VI TA', with foliate tendrils reserved on a blue ground incised with scroll motifs, rim crack, 28cm.
