An Italian maiolica berettino syrup or wet drug jar mid 17th century, Rome or Venice, the globular body painted in blue with a blank cartouche within scrolling floral and foliate borders, with a short straight spout and strap handle, a long body crack, 20cm.
Paper label for John W A Preston-Jackson, MPS Chemist, St Mary Cray (Kent). Mr Preston-Jackson was elected to the Society of Chemist Opticians in 1906, and was in occasional correspondence with The Chemist and Druggist magazine until his death in 1948.
