An early 19th century four-colour gold snuff box, of unusual form with a flat base, shaped and waisted sides and a hinged cover with a serpentine thumbpiece and gallery, each panel delineated by bright-cutting and chased with scroll borders, diaperwork and centred by one of the following trophies; various gardener's tools, a basket of flowers, and a basket of fruit, the interior struck with a maker's mark "L.D", "poincons de notoriete", Swiss (Geneva) 1810-20, 2.3in (6cm) long, 3.75oz.
