A 17th century silver squeeze-action spice / snuff box,
maker's mark PR crowned, circa 1680-90,
oval form, the hinged cover engraved with a tent pitched outside a town, to the left a cloud and face, and inscribed 'SI VOUS CHANGEZ IE CHNCERAI', the sides with chevron decoration, and base with engraved foliate scroll decoration, with a chain and finger ring attachment, length 4cm, approx. weight 0.5oz.
