SIR GEORGE HAYTER (1792-1871): Portrait of the Rev. Dr Henry Dyson Gabell, headmaster of Winchester College, inscribed verso 'The Late Rev'd Dr Henry Dyson Gabell, from memory painted from an early miniature and various sketches made by me during his life, George Hayter 1838', oil on panel, 34.5 x 29.5cm (13.75 x 11.5in) ++ Minor touching up in background, surface a bit scratched. Glasses in right hand added.
