A large Chinese bronze altar vase six character Qianlong mark and probably of the period, the shoulders applied with animal mask handles, 28cm. Cf. R. Kerr, Chinese Ceramics, Porcelain of the Qing Dynasty 1644-1911, p.32, where a blue-glazed porcelain example from the Salting Bequest is illustrated, which was made for use at The Temple of The Moon in Beijing.
