A gold ring mounted with an oval hardstone 'nicolo' intaglio, 3rd century AD, Sasanian. Carved with figures beneath an inscription. Depicting the ancient myth of Romulus and Remus, with at least one figure appearing to suckle the surrogate mother wolf. 1.5cm wide. With a letter explaining the inscription.
