John Paul Cooper: An Arts and Crafts 18ct yellow gold and opal pendant c.1924, in the form of two gnomes sitting back to back on a circular solid black opal and supporting a larger oval solid black opal on their shoulders, the upper pierced section in the form of briers. Signed to the reverse 'JPC' and '18.' 5.5cm high and 3cm wide. On an 18ct yellow gold chain/necklace, approximately 65cm long and signed to the barrel clasp 'JPC' and '18.' With accompanying letter dated February 15th and addressed 'Betsom's Hill, Westerham, Kent,' to a Miss Mackinnon and signed by John Paul Cooper. In the letter Cooper explains to Miss Mackinnon how he was influenced to use the two gnomes.
