William Frederick Mitchell (1845-1914) H.M.S. Victoria, at sea off Portsmouth Signed and dated 1887 and numbered 1466 Watercolour 68 x 49cm; 27¼ x 19¼in H.M.S. Victoria was an early screw powered steam and sail 1st rate of 4,116 tons. She mounted 121 guns. Built in Portsmouth she was launched in 1859 and was sold out of the service for breaking in May 1893.
