A pair of early 19th century Old Sheffield maces
A pair of early 19th century Old Sheffield maces, parcel gilt, with part polished and part chased baluster sections and coronet finials openwork dolphin scroll centres and turned wooden staves, together with a matching parcel gilt tipstaff with a fluted baluster pommel, swollen knop and an openwork terminal formed by four dolphin scrolls, made for a borough or corporation of unknown origin 1820-1840 (all contained in a fitted oak travelling box) the maces 39in (99cm) long.
