The beginning of 2014 has heralded some changes to both staff and departments;
Will Hobbs will now be head of a dedicated department for Tribal Art, Antiquities, Arms & Armour.
Having been head of the Furniture & Works of Art department for many years Will has decided to concentrate on this new department. Will commented 'Tribal art has always been a particular interest of mine and the market has seen an extensive rise in popularity in the last few years. Following the success of the Arms & Armoury section of the January sale this is another area I am keen to develop.'
Mark Richards has taken over as head of the Furniture & Works of Art department
Mark joined Woolley & Wallis in January 2000, and after learning the ropes of the auction business running the regular general sales, he gained valuable experience working alongside John Axford in the Ceramics department before moving into Furniture in 2002.
Mark commented ‘This is a fantastic opportunity and I look forward to continuing and developing the success of the department’.
Clare Durham has been appointed as an Associate Director.
Having started in 2007 assisting John Axford in the English & European Ceramcis
department, Clare took over the department in 2012.
