Rare and Historic Letters and Documents

WATCH militaria specialist Ned Cowell highlight some of the rare and important historical documents and letters featured in the upcoming Medals & Coins, Arms & Militaria sale on 10th June.

Included in the sale is a small but remarkable group of documents concerning the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745, including a contemporary duplicate of a requisition order for military provisions for the rebels (Lot 347)

Further, a fascinating group of letters written to British politician and man of letters, the Right Honourable George Wyndham (1863-1913), including correspondence from Winston Churchill and other leading figures of the day. Covering subjects from the Boer War to Irish Independence, offer a fascinating insight into late 19th and early 20th century political history (Lots 348, 349, 350).
