A George III engraved oval snuff box, opening at the top to aid the user in taking a "pinch", gilt interior, and inscribed "Taddy" on one side, makers mark only "GC", probably Scottish, possibly by George Christie, Edingburgh c.1790, 3.75in (9.5cm) wide, 2.25oz.
