A William & Mary tubular grater with a pierced body, pull-off cap, scratched with a tulip flower and further hatched decoration on the body, the base initialled "SM", silver grater, maker's mark only struck on each component part, "TA" [below a pellet], unascribed, London c.1690, 2.5in (6.4cm).
