An interesting late 18th century American Neoclassical sugar vase and cover, with five bead borders and bright cut cartouche, initialled 'A', unmarked but almost certainly by Abraham Dubois, *Philadelphia 1790, 10.75in (27.4cm) high, 16oz. *This vase and its matching marked coffee pot feature in a 1974 Spink & Son Ltd catalogue 'Spink 74' pp26. The vase also features in Margaret Holland's Illustrated Guide to silver pp.158.
