Description

An early Victorian rosewood and brass bound travelling toilet case, the hinged cover revealing an easel-back mirror and a pocket with a pair of sliding trays fitted glass and silver gilt lidded bottles, jars and boxes, a cylindrical silver pot and two silver lidded glass boxes with hinged covers, a lined rosewood box with ivory knob handle above a partitioned and velvet lined jewellery tray, the base with a frieze drawer containing a pair of ivory glove stretchers and three hairbrushes and a small penknife, the silver hallmarked 'London 1837', maker F.D, the sides with sunken brass handles, 7in (18cm) h, 13.25in (33.5cm) w, 9in (23cm) d. One 1 1/2in dia. glass jar with section missing.
