An Anglo-Indian lacquer chest on stand, probably Bareilly area, allover decorated in gold with bands of flowers and foliage and panels of chinoiserie, the hinged lid to a vacant interior on a leaf carved 'X' shape stand, with scroll supports, mid 19th century, 40.25in (102.3cm) h, 38.5in (98cm) w, 23in (58.2cm) d. ¦See Jaffer, Amin: Furniture from British India and Ceylon, V&A Publications, p.269 for a similar example.
