A 19th century mahogany and brass campaign oval wash stand, with two part galleried tiers the top tier with a pierced aperture for a bowl, 33.75in (86cm) h, 28.25in (72cm) w, 18.75in (47.5cm) d.¦This form of collapsible oval washstand can be seen in military outfitters advertisements during the second half of the 19th century, including Allen's, 37 West Strand, London and Hill & Millard, 7 Duncannon Street, Trafalgar Square.
