Description
An Italian pietra dura table top, decorated with a floral and leaf wreath centred a dancing harlequin figure, inlaid with various hard stones including malachite, lapis lazuli, and agate, 2nd half 19th century, probably Florence, inset into a mahogany and brass mounted base, the moulded edge above a panelled frieze on square tapering legs headed by engraved urns, united by an undertier, the base late 19th century, possibly Baltic or Russian, 29.25in (74.3cm) h, 31.5in (80cm) dia. Losses to brass inlay.
