Description
Oliver Cromwell, Lord Protector, a silver crown piece, 1658, by Thomas Simon, laureate and draped bust left, OLIVAR.D.G.P.ANG.SCO.HIB &c PRO., rev. crowned arms of the protectorate, PAX.QVAERITVR.BELLO, lettered edge HAS.NISI.PERITVRVS.MIHI.ADIMAT.NEMO _ESC 10; S.3226). Very fine and toned, the usual die flaw in an early stage.
