A late 19th/early 20th century Austro Hungarian enamelled, ladies smoking compendium , of rounded oblong form decorated with a pearlescent enamel on an engine turned ground, with two compartments (for cigarettes and vestas), two hinged covers and sapphire thumbpiece, maker's mark a monogram, Vienna c.1900, 3.75in (9.5cm) long, 4oz.
