Description
A set of six George III carved mahogany dining chairs, the undulating top rail carved with leaves and scrolls above a pierced splat back headed by a patera within a twisted moulding, the serpentine front seat on moulded legs united by an 'H' stretcher comprising: two open armchairs and four side. (6) Old damages and restoration.
Provenance: The property of John Brookes Esq and sold 26th March 1965, lot 152 Sotheby & Co 'Important Rugs and Carpets, Important Clocks, Works of Art and Fine English Furniture'.
