Description
A mahogany secretaire bookcase, the pierced open pediment above a Gothic arch frieze and a pair of lattice astragal glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves, the base with a gadrooned edge above a hinged secretaire drawer inlaid an ebony and ivory parquetry star, the interior fitted with pigeon holes and drawers, above three graduated long drawer on tapering block feet, the cornice late 19th century, the top and base associated but late 18th century, 99.5in (252.5cm) h, 43in (109.3cm) w, 22in (56cm) d. Four panes cracked, old damages and restoration.
