Both with frontispiece inscribed Sketches made in Sinai by W.S. Goodwin Corpl R.E. 1868-9
All pencil and watercolour
Each album 37 x 27cm; 14½ x 10½in, each album with approx. 130 drawings
Together with 3 framed watercolour studies of desert trees by the same hand
Although some of these sketches show a possible influence from Albert Goodwin it is unlikely that they are by the W. S. Goodwin who was his nephew and who died in 1916 as there is no record of him ever serving in the Royal Engineers.
