An intersting set of four George III Old English pattern tablespoons, inscribed 'RMC' Jun: Dep 1802 - Infirmary' * below the Royal Crown by W.Eley and W. Fearn, London 1803/07, 10oz. (4)
*The junior department of the Royal Military College opened on the 17th May 1802 with an intake of sixteen gentlemen cadet aged between 13 and 15.
They would have been used at Great Marlowe where th RMC occupied rented accommodation whist Sandhurst was being built.
Sandhurst (Old Building) was eventually opened in 1812.
