Description

A Charles I/Commonwealth unascribed apostle, the gilt figure lacking emblems, sacred dove nimbus, struck once in the bowl and twice on the stem, with a 'winged' cherub mask, 1640-1650, 7 6in (19.4cm) long, 2oz. See Jacskons revised p513, for the mark, where it is tentatively ascribed to Newport, Wales.
