Description

A lace pocket handkerchief, a quilted silk purse decorated with sequins and a ribbon decorated with flowers, in a carved triangular frame decorated with leaves and with initials and date 'ER 1600', with a paper label to the the back 'Mr. F. G. Enys- Pocket handkerchief which once belonged to Queen Elizabeth, edged with old Guipere lace; a sachet wonderfully quilted and ornamented with gold sequins and a piece of ribbon made of cloth of gold, the whole once being the property of Queen Elizabeth, and enclosed in an appropriate frame designed and carved by Miss Douglas Cooper. All these articles have been examined at the South Kensington Museum and certified as genuine, the sequin work being the finest the authorities had seen.', 26.5in (67.2cm) h, 24.75in (62.6cm) w.
