Description

A Chinese export mother of pearl tea chest, with applied pierced and carved panels of scrolling foliage and blossom, having a moth escutcheon and silver coloured metal leaf decorated side handle, with stamped marks, worn, possibly a butterfly, and raised on paw feet, with a plush lined interior fitted three canisters of canted rectangular form, pewter with all over applied panels, two with pull off cover and one sliding, early 19th century, 6.25in (16cm) h, 11.25in (28.5cm) w, 6.75in (17cm) d.
