Description

A late 18th century Royal Wedding boxwood butter mould, with a turned handle, the base carved two hearts crowned 'HAPPY UNION SEPR 29. 1791,' 3.5in (9cm) h, a 19th century sycamore mould, carved a cow and a small mould, carved a thistle. (3) On 12th September 1791 Prince Frederick, Duke of York , George III second eldest son, married Frederica, the daughter of Frederick William II, King of Prussia.
