A large Hemlock League Arts and Crafts oak hall stand, designed by Harry Napper, hemispherical stand for swords and polo sticks, below small cupboard, with carved capitals and floral panels, unsigned 179 cm. high Exhibited The Earl's Court Military Exhibition, 1901. Literature The Artist 1901, page 87 this design illustrated as part of a suite made by The Hemlock League to designs by Harry Napper. The Hemlock League was a small society of young artists and craftsmen dedicated to the creation of suitable modern decoration at affordable prices and was founded by Alexander Rottmann.
