A Victorian Scottish novelty silver purse, maker's mark of J.R, Edinburgh 1858, modelled as a sporran, hinged cover with a slide clasp, with six carved yellow glass tassels, and mounted with a thistle, with a carrying chain and finger ring, and engraved with a registration lozenge for the 12th June 1857, length 8.2cm, approx. weight 2.5oz.
