Edinburgh University, bronze award medals (4), by A. Kirkwood, awarded to R. T. Dunbar and associated with the J-phenomena, arms in trilobe, revs. Wreath and naming, Ordinary Mathematics, 1908-9; Natural Philosophy, 1908-9; Physics Final Hon[ours], 1914-15; and Inter. Hon. Exp. Physics, Margaret P. White, 1913-14, all 52mm, in cases of issue [one case broken]. Extremely fine.
The J-phenomena and the quantum theory of scattering of X-radiation was investigated by R. T. Dunbar, and Edinburgh graduate, and Margaret P. White, whom he was to marry. Both worked for several years with the scientist Charles Glover Barkla (1877-1944)
